I get a kernel panic trying to boot the latest live CD. My system is a AMD64, MSI-K8T

I can't remember the exact error message as I write this, but it involved the "init" process.

Is it "Attempting to kill init"? If so, this is due to unsupported IDE, SATA or SCSI adapter. The output of "lspci && lcpci -n" from any working Linux distro would help resolving the problem.

If you have SATA, please use your BIOS to switch it to the legacy mode.
