Sounds fine to me. I can't recall why it was in the main Makefile, but
I believe whatever it is has been removed or changed already.
Yes, the relevant change was to build unionfs and squashfs as non-modules.
I will remove KVERS from the main Makefile while going through the package
updates in alphabetical order.
