Also, such low-level oopses as indicated in Trac usually indicate
massive data corruption in hardware, so I no longer trust any bug
reports from Brian until he runs memtest86 (he didn't).
Hi,
I just happen to be listening in and wondered if you were thinking of my
"start init" contributions where you had asked that I run memtest.
I was the one trying 6.1.1-3 on both a k6-2 laptop and desktop.
The desktop did indeed have some intermittent memory failures but the
laptop did not.
But I could not get that CD to boot on either.
I'm now using the 6.2-pre3 ok on laptop ok. The desktop won't run
that.(memory prob)
Just in case you were confusing me with Brian.
And I wouldn't trust me either if I were you! I don't know Jack!:)
