OHCI is for USB-1.1. EHCI is for USB-2.0, but it doesn't work without OHCI or UHCI. EHCI is harmless (but still prints its message to dmesg) when there is no USB 2.0 controller. What you are seeing is probably a misrouted IRQ and/or buggy BIOS problem. Does the following boot command line work around it? linux pci=noacpi noapic nolapic usb_handoff -- Alexander E.
