I'm attempting to use the version 6.2 LiveCD to build the current
version of LFS using jhalfs-2.1

Since the build can't be done as root, I created a new user with
/home/newuser as home. I added this user to the root group, too.

When I start the automated build, I'm asked to sudo off the bat so that
I can get privs I might need later.

Realizing that I couldn't sudo without a root password set, I did that,
then tried it again. Failed to sudo. Set the password again. Failed to sudo.

So, I just tried sudo'ing outside of the make process. Failed.

What do I need to do to use sudo from the CD?

Summary of what I've done:
* Added new user (lfs)
* Added new user to root group
* Changed root password

This seems to me to be the right process, at least from my experience
with ubuntu (even though you have to add the user to group "admin"
instead of "root" - no admin group on LFS, at least that I saw).

Ideas?
