Hello,

I am trying to install LFS 6.2 via Live-CD 6.2.5 with kernel 2.6.16.38
on a quite old notebook.

This old notebook I equipped with a 40-GB-HDD. Because I want to have
not only Linux on this drive but WIN and DOS too I installed the
Ontrack Disk Manager.

Since version 2.5.70 kernels do not detect the informations of the
disk manager by standard. That is o.k. and (according to the
Large-disk-HOWTO) it is usulally enough to enter the boot parameter
hda=remap63 to make the kernel detect the disk manager. Trying this on
the LFS-Live-CD boot prompt gives unfortunately only:

Could not find kernel image: hda=remap63.

Is there something special about the kernel on this Live-CD or do I
have to look for a more genaral solution concerning the later 2.6
kernels?

Thanks, Martin.
