I've been playing around with Google Live Transcribe these past couple of
days, and am very impressed with its accuracy. It works just fine in
airplane mode, provided the relevant (English) language pack has been
downloaded.

Live Transcribe is apparently open source since August 2019.

I've tried to find out a bit more about privacy concerns, but haven't found
much - which isn't to say that there aren't any, and may be a case of AIs
tending to stick up for each other!

Transcriptions can stay on my device for either 24 hours or 3 days. The
easiest way to save them I've found is to save the text file to Google
Drive.

So - how do people feel about the idea of my sporadically using Live
Transcribe at a meetup? For example, if someone were coming back at me with
a detailed answer, I would simply pass them my phone to speak into.
