I haven't used this for a while, but I think you can do both - if you want
to use the velocity, then you have to make the note a constant by clicking
the checkbutton next to it.

Well, the idea was to make a type of generic interface that can link any
kind of peripheral to a control sequence in LiVES - so for example you use
the same interface for MIDI keyboard and for joystick. By all means, it
would be great to have an alternate interface which is more comfortable
for MIDI users.

So please, yes send me your ideas.
