Sorry my bad here it is:

Here's terminal trying to open mp3:

millius@millius-desktop:~$ lives

LiVES 1.4.1

Failed to open file - I tried:

LANGUAGE=en LANG=en usr/bin/mencoder -quiet  -osdlevel 0 -vo
png:z=0:alpha  -lavdopts o=threads=2 -noframedrop  -ao
pcm:fast:nowaveheader  -mc 0  "/home/millius/Desktop/audio2.mp3"
</dev/null

Maybe you are missing a library in mplayer (or it is not a valid media
file) ?

And from the on screen terminal:

Starting...
Successfully loaded 139 Weed filters
Loading default keymap
from /home/millius/.lives-dir/default.keymap...done.

Checking optional
dependencies:mplayer...detected...convert...detected...composite...detected...sox...detected
cdda2wav...detected...jackd...detected...pulse
audio...detected...python...detected...dvgrab...detected...xwininfo...detected...

Window manager reports as "compiz"; number of monitors detected: 1
Temp directory is /home/millius/livestmp/
Compiled with jack support, good !
Compiled with pulse audio support, wonderful !
Welcome to LiVES version 1.4.1.

Autoloading set audio...3 clips were recovered from set (audio).

==============================
Switched to clip audio2 (audio)

==============================
Switched to Multitrack mode
Opening /home/millius/Desktop/audio2.mp3
Playback speed not found or invalid ! Using default fps of 25.000 fps.
Default can be set in Tools | Preferences | Misc.

failed.
Closed file /home/millius/Desktop/audio2.mp3

So it looks like maybe I am missing a plugin for mencoder? Possible. I
upgraded the hard drive to 1TB, and so had to reinstall Ubuntu.

Thanks.
