I am happy to announce the release of LiVES 2.0.6.
This release adds a new "Clip thumbnails" window for dual head mode (this
can be disabled from preferences). The clip thumbnails window is only
active in fullscreen/separate window mode. It allows you to select the
current clip (Foreground or background) by clicking on a thumbnail of the
clip. You can also activate and deactivate effects from a drop-down list.
Plus, when an effect is activated, the parameters are shown and you can
adjust them.
Another new feature is in the Data Connector. This is accessed from the
realtime effects window (ctrl-v). Here you can click on "Data Connections"
for any effect. The new feature adds two new psuedo-parameters, "Activated"
and "Activate". These may be used to trigger other things. For example, you
can map the Beat Detector plugin to a key/mode and then feed the "Beat
Pulse" output parameter into the "Activate" parameter of another effect.
The result is to trigger the second effect whenever an audio beat is
detected.
Both of these features may be expanded in the future - for example, the
clip thumbnails window will be expanded with more screen areas (in addition
to just foreground and background - for example, left side of screen, right
side of screen) to allow for video mapping. The Data Connector will be
expanded to allow for output paramters to be mapped to multiple input
parameters (so a cascade of effects can be triggered).
These new features have been tested but may be buggy still, so use at your
own discretion !
Other changes include a new "Kaleidoscope" effect and a few bug fixes.
