Hi all,
I have just been testing LiVES with GTK+ 3.10, which amongst other things
is the default version in Ubuntu 14.04.
It seems like there are some major issues with this version (3.10.x) of
GTK+. The result in LiVES is to fail to call the correct expose method for
the timeline widgets and hence in the clip editor and multitrack, the
timelines will appear blank as they are not being drawn correctly.
>From what I have discovered it seems like these problems are fixed in GTK+
3.12. However I have been unable to confirm this at present.
It is unfortunate that this broken version of GTK+ is now the default in
Ubuntu.
For now the advice is to avoid compiling LiVES with GTK+ 3.10 and to use
another GTK+ version if possible. Versions up to and including 3.8.x do not
suffer from these problems.
Regards,
Gabriel.
