I have just released LiVES version 2.2.7. This version adds support for
audio triggered video generators, including support for projectM plugins:
http://projectm.sourceforge.net/ . If you have these plugins installed,
LiVES should automatically detect and use them. The support has also been
backported to libvisual in auto mode. In addition, libvisual plugins were
missing from the plugin menus recently, and they have been added back in.
Related to this, I have implemented a long standing request, which is to
create permanent (session long) inputs for jack and pulse audio when LiVES
has the audio source set to external. Now you only need to connect the
inputs once, when LiVES starts up, rather than each time playback is
triggered.
In addition, the openGL and openGL_trickery plugins have been merged, and
the code for that plugin rewritten. openGL playback for LiVES is now a
reality, and the openGL plugin is now the recommended playback plugin for
LiVES. This can be set in Preferences / Playback.
Finally there were a few bug fixes. An error in the chroma blend plugin was
fixed. This is important as it is the default transition plugin in
multitrack mode and the error was causing visual defects in that mode.
An unnecesary deinterlacing step was removed from LiVES new multithreaded
player. This brings some nice improvements to the player, which is now
finally running as it should be.
In addition there were a few visual improvements and some code cleanups for
rarer compilation conditions.
For those interested in remote control of LiVES, OMC commands
/clip/selection/rte_apply, /clip/undo and /clip/redo were added.
