Hi Doug, I tried the same thing here, no errors. I was able to reload the clips and layout.
It sounds like for some reason your copy of LiVES is not able to save png files. Maybe you can try the following: - open 1 clip - copy to clipboard - paste as new - close the original clip - save as a new set then look in the set file (in ~/livestmp/<setname>clips. You should see a load of .png files....if not then something is wrong.
