I have not experienced such slow downs or freezes, generally I can run LiVES for several hours without any problems. Perhaps it is related to the MIDI controls - these are converted internally to OSC commands and sent to the OSC controller. Maybe there is some internal memory leak in libOSC. I 'll take a look and see if it can be improved. Regarding the playback plugins, SDL is not recoommended, openGL works pretty good these days I think.
