Ok, thanks for explaining. I'd be in favor of eliminating the dependence on the version number of the OS. If there is a reason that becomes important, I suspect there will be other parts we'll need to address as well since the version check might need to be something like: OS version must be >= some min ABI version to do something. So the version number seems too specific to have in the triple.
