Yeah, that effort is stalled because I don't see a clear path forward there, and I'm lacking energy to find and push for one. I guess I can try to piggyback on this PR if it goes in the direction I need (I hope you don't mind :). Seriously, though, I'm not sure how your design with a flag orthogonal to format fares in the feedback I was given back then. It's also not clear how this new "presentation mode" is going to be controlled. While it's not in the scope of this PR, it would be nice if you can share a bigger picture. Another thing this PR doesn't seem to touch is flag-like enums.
