Bug ID: 15671
Summary: backtrace truncated after assertion failure in
inferior
Product: lldb
Version: unspecified
Hardware: PC
OS: Linux
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: P
Component: All Bugs
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Classification: Unclassified
To reproduce, compile the following with clang or gcc:
#include <assert.h>
int main() {
assert(0);
return 0;
}
and run it in lldb
(lldb) run
(lldb) bt
Expected behaviour: I can see the frame for main in the backtrace and I can use
the command "up" to get to it. With gdb, I get the backtrace:
#0 0x00007ffff7a51425 in raise () from /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libc.so.6
#1 0x00007ffff7a54b8b in abort () from /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libc.so.6
#2 0x00007ffff7a4a0ee in ?? () from /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libc.so.6
#3 0x00007ffff7a4a192 in __assert_fail () from /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libc.so.6
#4 0x0000000000400571 in main ()
Actual: whereas with lldb, I get
* thread #1: tid = 0x6aef, 0x00007fa686778425 libc.so.6`raise + 53, stop reason
= signal SIGABRT
frame #0: 0x00007fa686778425 libc.so.6`raise + 53
frame #1: 0x00007fa68677bb8b libc.so.6`abort + 379
