I have not been able to link with Open MPI using ld.lld as a drop in
replacement for ld on RHEL6/7 with a variety of compilers (gcc, intel, and
clang) since v6.0. Using Open MPI 1.10.2 or 4.0.1 I get error messages like:
ld: error: corrupt input file: version definition index 0 for symbol
mpi_fortran_argv_null is out of bounds
>>> defined in /projects/openmpi/1.10.2/lib/libmpi_usempif08.so
I am linking a C++ executable but it also include a few FORTRAN libraries so I
need to also link in the MPI FORTRAN libraries.
