Yesterday I spend a little time on the wiki, there I realized a problem that
could give serious grieves. A lot of the imagery is placed on various
homepages and hosting services like Image-shack. Potentially this could mean
that many of the images on the wiki could be lost if pages outside the
control of the project are closed.
Also, this structure makes it very difficult to maintain an updated imagery
for the program.
There is no simple way to make sure that various images of the same
component are identical. This mean that in one page on the wiki a picture of
an 0.4.2 interface is shown and on an other page an image of 0.4.5 has been
used.
I would like to suggest an imagery setup like the one for templates -eg
http://lmms.sourceforge.net/wiki/index.php?title=Templates
-but with images of the interface. This way there would only be one area
that need maintenance when new versions of LMMS are released, all imagery
would be consistent throughout the entire wiki, and images would be 'save'
inside the project.
I would participate in creating the images if desired.
What are the teams thoughts on this?
