Hi,

git rebase particularly is nice if you have local commits that were not
pushed. When rebasing (which can be done afterwards manually as well via
git rebase origin/stable-0.4) you avoid an extra merge commit message which
helps reducing commit history clutter. Anyways for just cloning a fresh
copy or updating local worktree this should not be required.
