It > could be part of the export dialog. Sorry, I'm not sure about what buffer you are talking. Is it the samples length that can be seen - for example - as incoming data inside plugins? If yes it *may* change the plugins output. For example plugins that perform FFT and use the incoming size as FFT size may generate small differences in output as FFT precision depends on samples length (it is the case for a binaureal LADSPA plugin I wrote - not commited at this time).
