There are some way to do the chmod with CMake
<https://github.com/LMMS/lmms/blob/stable-1.1/data/scripts/CMakeLists.txt#L8>
(either via copy or via shell command -- I've had to do it for the apple
stuff), but for now the command should be in the tutorial. It's a
one-liner and it may not be obvious to all users. No reason to leave
something out that's so easy to just leave in. :)

Actually, instructions for setting up a dev box running Ubuntu isn't a
terrible idea, but there are already plenty of tutorials on the internet
for setting up a virtualmachine using virtualbox. This is how I do my
development as it allows me to easily fire up a different OS and test or
compile there. It also allows snapshots, which can introduce time travel
into the testing and building process... something I find tremendously
useful.

I'm curious as to this too. There must be a setting that was turned on
because this wasn't as locked down before. I would like to publish the
Apple specific stuff there eventually and have a request out for access.
