So after reading emails a few times over as well as the instructions LukasW
has linked, it appears SF *does* still support the forums, just not as a
"Hosted App".

http://sourceforge.net/p/forge/community-docs/Migrating%20phpBB%20from%20Hosted%20Apps/

SF retired the "Hosted App" version, but still allows us to roll our own
forums, hence LukasW's comment about keeping SourceForge.

I personally think it's time to say goodbye to sourceforge for the
following reasons:

   1. Downloads - Cluttered with advertisements and malware
   2. Removal of hosted apps - Requires the forums to be rebuilt anyway
   3. DNS support - Sites like tuxfamily allow us to leverage
lmms-project.org with our own URLs. (can SF do that?)
   4. New slate - A new site is a long time coming and this may be the
catalyst to get a team working on it together. (CMS, et al)

That said, keeping the site on SF would be slightly less work than moving
all components to a new host.

But as Vesa said, we should really make a decision on this. If we can't
reach consensus then we'll need a single person to make this decision.

Jonathan said he would start getting the forums setup on tuxhosting today
and tomorrow which if holds true would be *some* progress.

(P.S. Jonathan, I can provide you a db backup that LukasW emailed to me.
Contact me on hangouts if interested.).
