On windows or mac, you can just install the GitHub desktop client which will put the files on your computer. It will ask where to put them. It should also fond your fork automatically. If not, click the +, then clone.
When you do this you want to target a branch that is relevant. I'd vote these go into stable-1.1. Switching branches from stable-1.0 to stable-1.1 should be on the upper right hand corner after you've done your clone.
