You know... historically I've never liked the name LMMS but since the
rebranding effort, I'm really starting to enjoy it. :)
If a good enough name comes around we can certain rebrand, but some of
these things become harder and harder to change over time. For example,
our facebook page only allows one rename and we just requested it from
"Linux MultiMedia Studio" to "LMMS". We needed to supply evidence for this
(which I used our domain name as our evidence) So at this time, a new name
would mean we drop our FB page.
Other services, such as Google+, YouTube get verified against our domain as
well to list as "official" pages. This stuff has all happened in the past
few weeks, but I think you can imagine the undertaking to change it all.
Lastly, the github page (both sourcoode and URLs) have finally become a
comfortable place for our end users. A name change is still possible
(aything is possible) but as we grow as a community, the effort to change
the name becomes increasingly difficult. :)
