So I was talking with some musicians today and a subject came up:
relative automations. Particularly, how almost DAW offers this simple
feature that would be very useful and practical in almost any DAW.

The idea is, that you could create an automation track and set it as
"relative", instead of "absolute" as it is now. Basically, a relative
automation track would automate a knob relative to the existing value of
the knob. Say you have a volume knob set to 60%, you could add a
relative automation that fluctuates between -50% and +50%, and this
would translate to a fluctuation between 30% and 90%.

The usefulness of this would be that you could automate a knob, and then
if you later wanted to shift the entire range of the automation, you
wouldn't have to redo the entire automation track (that could be who
knows how long) but instead just turn the knob, and the automation would
adjust automatically.
