First, when you speak of VST2.3 and VST2.4, I assume you are referring to
the Steinberg versioning? We don't use Steinberg headers, but we do
support 64-bit (Which Steinberg claims to have added with VST2.4 in
2006?). Instead we use a clean-room implementation of the technology
written by Tobias Doerffel. It is not feature complete and we do have some
open bugs with it.
Secondly, ZynAddSubFX is a native plugin in LMMS... so it's not the VST
version, it's a bundled version written with custom integration (you can
preview the instruments through the LMMS interface!). You are free to try
the VST version of ZynAddSubFX through our Vestige instrument plugin if you
can find a stable VST build of Zyn.
