I see a lot of people sending emails to this developer list, asking how
they can help LMMS even if they don't have any programming knowledge. I
think LMMS deserves good, clear, concise and up-to-date documentation which
can help anyone new to the program.

To help out, and write articles on the Wiki, all you need is a bit of free
time, an account, and good will. It'd be preferred that you have a good
knowledge of English grammar, so the articles stay understandable.

If you don't have an account, send me an email with your desired username,
and I'll be glad to make one for you :)

The wiki has now suffered a big rehaul, namely upgrading our 4 year old
MediaWiki instance to the newest version, and changing how articles work.

Instead of having a new manual for each new release, we will always have
one manual that will stay up to date. When a new version arrives, articles
that are inconsistent with the new version will be marked as Out of Date,
and left to be updated.

Articles in need of fixing are now divided in two categories:

https://lmms.io/wiki/index.php?title=Category:Out_of_date

https://lmms.io/wiki/index.php?title=Category:Incomplete

A third one will be added very shortly, for articles that demand attention
when it comes to their grammatical consistency.

I hope some of you will answer to this appeal, and I hope we can make the
documentation better and more awesome than ever :)

P.S. even though the documentation page is at https://lmms.io/documentation/
its just a cached and stylized version of the wiki. You have to access the
wiki through https://lmms.io/wiki to edit articles.

Best regards,
