Of course, that is the strength of LMMS. But LMMS also needs to strive to meet the needs of composers. Sadly, this is not 2011 with all the good techno. It's the "EDM" age where vocals are now *heavily* used. I understand that you guys must prioritize as we do have some ground to cover as a basic program as the developer count isn't that optimal right now; per contra, it might serve to at least spend a little bit of time on rolling out sampling(they have spent time on making the code, they've gotten pretty far as well) in order to attract new users. And more users means more fame and more fame means more developers. You have *no idea* how many bits and pieces it takes to *simply play an audio *file lest record it and put it into the program in an editable form, these guys are *working full speed* in order to give you the best program despite their hectic lives.
