Hi everyone
I think it is time to arrange some kind of poll for the LMMS community
(you) on two very important questions.
They might not seem important, because LMMS has all functionality one could
want and it works perfect for most people, but for new users and pretty
much everyone when they think about the icon of LMMS, they are not
satisfied. Let me put it gently: it makes the whole program look like a
childish program (not professional). Actually it is so bad that when I
installed Ubuntu Studio some years ago, because I knew there would be
better multimedia programs and support of multimedia programs on the OS, I
thought it was a program for learning kids math or write or, because of the
note, to learn babies some simple music. I knew about GIMP, Audacity,
MuseScore, Ardour, Blender... etc. However LMMS, even if I had read ten
pages on LMMS and its functionality and heard thousands of good songs
created with it, i would not have recognized it as the same program, or
maybe i would considered it as a good joke... This is only because of the
icon and the splash screen/startup picture. That time when I first opened
LMMS, i thought the GUI also looked pretty simple. Today I think the way
LMMS is built (GUI) is great. Everyone wants it to be simple! It is just
that the logo and the startup screen really ruined my first meeting with
the program. Yes, I unistalled the program and it is not strange that I
did. Of course, today I regret. Two years later a friend showed me this
amazing free program (without the startup screen :S).
So, basically. It is kind of a big deal. This is not going to be a task for
the developers. I am sure the community can handle this task. Look here

I am 100 % sure that there are several community members out there
which can make something better. (Real sorry for writing that lazerblade).
So, after reading this horrible story you probably haven't changed your
mind, you still choose yes.
1. Do you want to change the LMMS logo?

2. Do you want to change the startup picture/ splash screen?
- Yes
- No
(Next stop; make a contest amongst the community and spread the word on the
Internet. A post on one of the popular GIMP sites
would make people with expertise interested. I would even consider
donating, yeah money, to a prize pot or a trophy if it would
help encourage people. The money, if needed, could also be used to promote
the contest on different internetpages.
And why wait with changing the amazing GUI but with the horrible colors?
New themes/skins and colors could be included in the
contest/contests as well.)
