Here is just an idea, why don’t we take LMMS a step further and allow people to 
make native vst's or equivalently named platform that way we could do away with 
wine all together.

Yes, LMMS uses Wine for launching VST plugins - currently only 32 bit is 
supported as Wine64 doesn't seem to be in a usable yet. As LMMS launches the 
separate WINE process it makes no difference (at least it shouldn't make one) 
whether running LMMS on a 32 or 64 bit platform natively.
