i used to use vst plugins in lmms, but i got so many pops/clicks from e.g.
"DSK World StringZ.dll" so i've since then gone over to using soundfonts,
BUT i've finally figured out how to effectively remove these clicks/pops
noises:

the key is to view the audio in Spectrogram view in audacity. the noises
are the pink "spikes" in the audio :)
