OK Relax, I spent an hour or two researching the products
and all the instrument files are done now.
Let me know any errors.
The one remaining thing are all the Init sequences in these
instrument files.
No way can I research all of that stuff!
So many operating modes, so many patches.
We may have to just wait until the users supply them.
So for now if your instrument is not GM, GS, XG (which have
the Init sequences), you'll just have to select various device
'modes' with the devices' own controls, or construct custom
sysexes in the arranger (not recommended, try to add it to
an .idf file instead.)
Please give us your .IDFs and/or Init sequences. Thanks!

Side note: Found this comment in README.instruments:
(2) An "Instrument Definition File" can define more than on
Instrument, but it is recommended to use one file for
one instrument
Hm, that may or may not still be true. With the GM, GS, and XG
files, I think the 1:1 rule must be enforced because I think the midi
importer looks for the file names (bad - change that?). With other
files, not sure.
Must check, I doubt the instrument editor would preserve the
separate instruments, but hopefully directly in the .idf it's still
OK to do that...
A very good idea though, since song type is gone.
Group the various flavours (modes) of an instrument into one .idf file.
Recall I mentioned I was considering something similar, except
all contained in one instrument, but got stuck on
"multiple Init sequences". So this way instead may at least work.
Tim.
