Just a quick review question: I wonder why we send zero velocity note-ons instead of true note-offs in several places.
It's important for import/export, yes (see the 'save space' option). But for playback or live midi notes - why? Could it be that it's a mistake propagated over the years? I think there was a good reason but can't remember. Hmm... Wouldn't the synths be happier with true note-offs? Although I doubt it would actually change anything - I bet that only Deicsonze will still handle the situations I described earlier.
