Thanks! That crept in around RC2 release. Looks like someone mighta been 
 debugging in there and forgot to comment a line outta the cmake script.


Wow, we got tons of warnings in Release mode but almost none in Debug.

Some of them are kinda weird, like they reeeeally want us to check
 the return value of certain system functions and not ignore the result
 like we do.

For example posix_memalign() and write().

Also some "possible" usage of uninitialized variables (even though 
 they're not), which look like they should be altered to use 
 switch/case statements instead...
