Hi

why do we have SndFileR, reference counting and smart pointers, and why
does it cache stuff?

Has there been a real need for this (I somehow cannot believe that), or
is this is an example of "premature optimisation is the root of all
evil" :)?

I need a pretty dumb audio file reader for my AudioStreams (these will
be pretty intelligent). Especially i want a *unique* SndFile instance
per Stream, because i cannot seek() all the time.

is SndFile or SndFileR the right thing for me?

greetings
flo
