some more 2 cents from me:

GitHub is actually making money, but their monetarizing model seems
different and more honest to me: GitHub clearly states:
"If you are an open source project, then we're happy to support you for
free. But if you are a company, or have special wishes, then pay a
monthly fee."

The Free plan from GitHub is absolutely infeasible for companies: You
cannot create "private" repositories for free, while open source
projects aren't affected by this at all.

(And GitHub has got me. I WILL upgrade to a non-free plan some day,
because it's great, and because *I already tried it out* for free.)


I like this "Robin Hood" strategy: Take it from the rich and give it to
those, who need.
