Are we talking about Window vsti's or native linux vsti's? Win vsti's rely on DSSI so make sure they are working. And then dssi-vst needs to be properly installed which can be a hassle Linux vsti's should just work now, right? Make sure the path to where they are located is set in the environment, see muse2 -h for the environment variables. All I can think of for the moment.
