if the device shuts down, muse can't re-connect to it automatically when 
it re-appears, even tho it's listed. that's a nubie trap for you - and a

this is pretty dumb behaviour imo. always has been. if a device is in 
the list, then surely muse could poll for it if it's not there or 
something? it wouldn't take much 'grunt' to do this and is gonna really 
make life easier. and muse will seem more logical and compliant.

Because the existing HW is really just a list, couldn't muse do a check 
of the array before playback and if a device isn't connected, then 
reconnect it? Or have a re-conect all devices button ?

That would take less time than having to reconnect manually.   We're not 
adding to the list, simply re-connecting existing devices from the list.

a seq that can't effectively manage it's HW layer isn't very elegant. 
software is there to serve.
