Even if you have found a workaround I think this is pretty serious and
we really need to understand why this happens to you.

So you have jack running and start MusE without any special parameters?
Can you send your ~/.config/MusE/MusE.cfg?
Do you load a default song?

Can you give a short step by step how you set it up for recording (which fails)?

I'll have to admit it's been a while since I recorded something with
the latest version but should work..
