Exactly. Some may prefer the old panel.

To be honest there are some things I'm not satisfied with
on the new midi strip. Maybe in the end I'll remove those
controls on the right hand side and use the alternate panel for that.
I will do my best to make it all work out.

I'm glad I left the old panel in there. It opens a lot of possibilites.
More specifically, I'm glad I left the 'widget stack' (which holds the
 various panels) intact.
Even if the old panel is altered or removed we can use these
switchable panels to put lots of other stuff there.
For example the audio strips could also use this 'alternate' panel
where plugin controls might be shown etc.

(Remember OOM? They put an actual tabbed panel in there.
This is basically the same thing. We could put a tab widget on the left,
instead of those two buttons at the bottom.)

Note also in the Pianoroll I did not destroy the old midi track info panel,
it is merely not activated. I did keep the 'widget stack' there as well,
so it is just a matter of providing a panel switch button there.

Yes I was trying to point that out in the TODO.
The damn splitter initial sizes are driving me nuts.
Can't seem to get it to work right.

For now, you just have to grab the splitters and adjust them at first.
There are now TWO Arranger splitter handles. Grab 'em and adjust ;-)

Rest assured that once they are adjusted and saved in a song they
should reload just fine in the original positions.

I am quite pleased with how the splitter behavior worked out.
Notice that when the first handle is all the way to the left
it seems to smartly remember where it was even when
when switching to another track type with a different sized panel.
I am glad this required basically no extra effort.

Tim.
