Sorry, disregard, I re-read your post. You meant the pianoroll.
As far as I know those shortcuts are still working there.

One thing I've been meaning to add to the pianoroll
  for a long time, are two buttons 'Next' and 'Previous' part,
  and maybe a drop-down list to select any part.
It would be a good visual companion to using alt+left/right keys.
