Hello, we were just talking about this very subject in the user mailing list. One of the other developers has proposed something called 'folder tracks' which hold other tracks, which could be expanded or collapsed.

We're slowly nearing a final 3.0 release, but the git master is quite stable and recommended because there are many, many changes and bug fixes since last release. Hope you get a chance to try it.
