Hi all,

What is libinstpatch used for and do I need it for reading/creating .idf
files or doing patch changes in Muse?

No.

libinstpatch (from the Swami project) allows you to use our
fluidsynth MESS synth plugin to load a drum soundfont *.sf2
file and the drum note names will *automatically* appear in
the Drum Editor, so that you don't have to manually enter
these names or load a drum map file. It does help a lot.

If I recall, I had trouble compiling libinstpatch recently.

Also, the author informed me when I added it to MusE,
that he has a replacement system that uses GIntrospection.
I have not experimented with it yet, so libinstpatch
will have to do for now.

Reminder that we have a forum on linuxmusicians now.
There has been far more activity there than here.
Tim.

Thanks,

Andrew.
