As discussed this morning regarding synchronising the API and ARCH repos and the API groups
Here are my thoughts on the sequence *PART 1 (API grouping)* The goal is to align the architecture and api docs major topic groups 1. Define the group descriptions for the API groups in the API Group doc <https://docs.google.com/a/linaro.org/document/d/1DUnb8hggeDsH6ML95P9x9hjW9Cf8xFYM_IAsBDDcAVs/edit#> Bill you may have the best perspective to propose the descriptions, can you do that ? 2. Push these to the odp-git so that the API groupings are part of the header files Bill, could you take Anders patch and insert the descriptions from 1 to push the change ? *PART 2 (Arch to API merge)* The goal is to add the information that is relevant to the API and its header files and leave the rest to form the high level architecture discussion document. This should result in a clearer API description that is tightly coupled to the code and can respond to changes. 1. Move from the odp-architecture.git the correct information that needs to be applied to odp.git for the headers - Assuming part 1 this becomes easier - The caveat here is that some of the existing architecture document is true abstract information that should remain to become the Arch doc, the rest is the useful information describing the API and this should move. - This will take several people, so it is best to split into smaller pieces, possibly paragraphs or sections at a time. - I propose we tackle this with small patches for text to be moved so they are easy to discuss them as modifications to the existing header files. -- *Mike Holmes* Linaro Sr Technical Manager LNG - ODP
