C casting has always been a painful area.

I assume on x86 unaligned access is not an issue, so compiler doesn't
complain about it. You have to cross-compile it for ARM to get the
issue.

BTW email subject is indeed wrong. There is only one patch, so '2/2' is
redundant and misleading.
