I chose the IPhone over the android based on advice I got, which was based
on three factors. First, in the US, it is pretty easy to get free Tec
support from Apple. One can just schedule a ten minute appointment with
someone from the most convenient Apple store and get help. Second, there
seem to be more applications available for the IPhone than the android,
including the KNFB Reader, which allows users to use an IPhone to scan and
read print. Third, a trainer suggested I choose the IPhone. I have worked
with this trainer before. He knows his business and has used both an IPhone
and an android.

I welcome and hope I get different opinions on this matter. Just because I
have an IPhone now does not mean I will forever use an IPhone.

There is one major point in favor of the android in my opinion. I think it
could ultimately make the android a superior platform. Apple insists on not
licensing its operating system. Apple wants royalties for aps it develops.
This was its downfall with the Mac and almost cost the company its
existence. I would like to see Apple get its comeuppance again myself but
that's just me.
