Nice idea, Jono :) I'm the current LoCo Contact for the Australian LoCo. We have a lot of capable people in our ranks. In the past few months, we've had some successes with pushing Ubuntu into the media, which has been great. We currently hold meetings and such which at the moment have been uneventful as most of our active members are currently hurridly getting ready for Software Freedom Day (as mentioned already by Jan Husar) - which as a LoCo we take quite seriously. I personally am currently developing some surveys ( http://wiki.ubuntu.com/MarketingTeam/SurveyQuestionIdeas ) to be implemented on SFD. I'll be looking for people at SFD events to help with these next Saturday and the month after. You'll hopefully see me go running through the community areas screaming for volunteers and so forth in the next couple of days, so this is a heads-up on that :) Why do I love Ubuntu? Not because I'm overly techy, but because it is just.. so.. wonderful. It is wonderful to not have to stress about commonplace internet nasties yet have all the functionality of 'that other operating system' I used to use and then some. I like my operating systems like I like my cars - already assembled and without any rust spots. Add to that the community surrounding Ubuntu is simply awesome.
