I find this has been the case with one area LUG. It hasn't been a
negative relationship at all--just turned out that the LUG entirely used
Ubuntu. I am trying to update things to the point that I am more
offering resources to the local leaders, but not overshadowing them at
all.

Also something I am trying to move toward. This morning I have started
compiling local contacts. I have had some positive feedback so far. I
think I'm lucky in this area that Ubuntu or Fedora are the major
distros. I don't know a single person that uses Slackware anymore.
Around here the only thing I ever hear about are Ubuntu, Fedora or
Gentoo.

Love to hear that! I am also working closely with a group of other LUG
leaders trying to put together a statewide Open Source Conference
(www.utos.org). My focus at this point is to help put together the
resources and make sure there will be adequate Ubuntu representation.
It is turning out to be presented on three levels; corporate/business,
LUG/geek, & end-user. I hope everyone here on the list can offer
resources for those different levels to put forth the best face
possible.

Is it possible to get booths & materials for something on this level?
(expected August 2007)

Thanks for the initial suggestions. Hopefully I can really organize
things to a more efficient point. I always feel like there is more I
can do. That probably comes from my absolute passion for Ubuntu. I
feel like every person I meet could be a new user and I don't always
take advantage of that. One step at a time I guess.
