I've been working with freenode for the last while working on a site to have a catalogue of all events taking place in one location. This way more people get to hear about your event and maybe attend them if they are in the area. It's also a way to get ideas to run events. If you want to add any meet up, LoCo event, conference, unconference or barcamp to it you can fill in a form on the site. The site is http://fossevents.org and the channel on freenode is #fossevents if you want to stop in and give any feedback, we hope to have maps up soon enough on it. The site is for everyone on freenode but thought Ubuntu folks would like to hear about it and use it also.
